Ok grill that will last about a year....
For starters I was very impressed with the free shipping which delivered the very next day!! Then it all went down hill from there. I have owned several Charbroil grills and always thought they were durable and worked great every time. I have been looking for a new grill and seen this one online for a very reseasonal price.
I'm very frustrated that this grill is very flimsy and you have to be an acrobat to put this junk together. The stand barely supports the grill top and the stainless steel lid is thin and will not be able to hold the heat in.
My previous grill lasted 8 years and never covered it.But I do not see this being the case for this one. I guess time will tell though. I'm very disappointed in charbroil!!! They used to make better, sturdier grills.Macgerailt
Do not waste your money
I am currently looking for a new grill because this model is about 3 years old and the inside is complete junk. The replacement costs to purchase new "guts" make it just as expensive as buying a new grill. I can promise you I will be buying a new grill this season. I can also promise you it will not be a Char Broil. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. This is the 2nd one I had. I will not have a third.Rosadandan
Nice for the price but....
Shopped high and low for a new grill. Finally found this one online that advertised cast iron grilling grates. Unfortuately, the advertisement was incorrect. The interior shipping box reads porcelain coated (not cast iron--very different maintenance). Overall, a nice grill but not advertised correctly online.LoveToGrill3
Char broil
I purchased this grill 5 years ago. After 1 season the flame tubes rusted off the brackets and I had to hold them up with a piece of brick. That lasted another year. I replaced them the next season...and the next and the next....... stainless shows rust after first year. Porclyn grates rusted after 2nd season. Heat guage lasted 2 seasons. Heat tubes are burned through now and have decided to get a new grill. I promise it wont be a Charbroil. When it did work it cooked well, but so will my new one, most likely a weber. Being retired and living on a fixed income, I cant afford to replace this garbage every two years Never again!wuzznnmee
Overall nice grill
Grill is great with a couple minor complaints. The grates could be larger as to fill the area they sit in a little better (or be fastened in place). When I clean them with a brush or even have to move items I am grilling around, the grates move. When cleaning they bang around. Not a big deal, but fit could be better. The small screws that help attach the side tray/burner are very difficult to get to and screw in. Takes a bit of elbow grease. The pan that diverts the grease to the grease cup is not very sloped or has some other issue. Unfortunately for me, I grill in my driveway that has a slight slope to it. Granted this is not the grills fault and is probably not recommended, but the grease drains to where the base attaches and flows down the legs to my pavement. Obviously, I need to be on a totally flat surface, but it's surprising such a small angle creates this problem. As far as the good goes, the grates are nice quality and the burners work well. The temp gauge seems pretty accurate. Well constructed and a good purchase.cookemup
